On the Loop again. Well, at least trying.
The Oddysea needed to have some engine work done. So by hook or by crook we were bound and determined to make it to Winter Harbor by Friday morning of the 27th in order to speak to the mechanics before they left for the long Memorial Weekend. We left Minnesota in the wee hours of Thursday May 26th. Two canceled flights and three car rentals later we arrived at Winter Harbor late in the evening. The trip was a bit like the old Steve Martin, John Candy movie “Trains, Planes & Automobiles”.
The boat wasn’t near being seaworthy so we took the rental car and decided to make a road trip to Boston. Plus the water was still too high in the Erie Canal for the locks to be open.
